Swedish Menu AB was founded in 2010 and is based in the heart of Västra Götaland county in Lidköping’s Rörstrand Center, one of the region’s major attractions.
The area is rich in history thanks to the porcelain manufacturing which started here at the beginning of the 1900s. Rörstrand in Lidköping is the company behind the well-known Nobel dinner service.
The ideas around Swedish Menu emerged from the Swedish Ministry for Rural Affair's vision of Sweden – the new culinary nation. The ambition to spread awareness of and raise interest in Swedish cuisine, not least at international level, lies at the heart of Swedish Menu.
Sweden has a rich crop of competent and ambitious entrepreneurs who are driven by a passion for the country's culinary traditions in the sectors of food production, restaurants, farm shops and tourism. Interest in local and regional food and cuisine is growing strongly. Swedish chefs are attracting more and more attention outside the nation's borders and Sweden is well on the way to becoming a well-known gastronomic country of consequence. Thanks to its high quality, world-class taste experiences are on the menu.
